Product update: IDML evidence inspection and recoverable reviews
What IDML inspection can establish, what still requires a PDF or teacher check, and how source reattachment works.
What can the IDML inspector read?
The read-only inspector examines IDML ZIP/XML structure for style definitions and usage references, story text, page assignments and link URIs. It does not render Adobe InDesign documents, verify installed fonts, certify working links or inspect raw binary INDD files. Supply IDML plus a PDF for useful structural and visual evidence.
What about Photoshop and Illustrator?
The upload workflow accepts Photoshop and Illustrator source-file bytes in Full scope. Acceptance is not a guarantee of readable layers, artboards or production settings. Include PDF or image exports, and retain teacher checks for properties the available evidence cannot establish.
Can I reopen a saved review?
Saved results and rubric metadata can be restored. Original deliverable bytes are not retained in the workspace database. Reattach the matching class ZIP to inspect or begin a new review; previously accepted jobs can still be retrieved. Normal large-file cleanup is best-effort, not an expiry guarantee.
What is next?
The public roadmap separates delivered capabilities from proposed Python, CAD, video, conversational rubric building and community voting. These are development directions, not a delivery-date commitment. Use Email the team to send feature ideas without attaching student data.
